E2M (Engineer with EM Waves) is now available on the App Store. To the best of our knowledge at its August 7, 2025 release, E2M was the first native mobile application to provide engineering-oriented electromagnetic analysis of one-dimensional layered media, including RTA sweeps, arbitrary polarization control, photonic-band calculations, user-defined materials, and exportable numerical results. E2M includes a free mode for academic use. The Layer Design view accepts up to three defined layers, while layer grouping allows the defined stack to repeat periodically without a fixed repetition limit. A subscription removes the three-layer design limit for structures that require additional materials or layers. Subscriber support also helps fund new E2M capabilities and future electromagnetic solvers for higher-dimensional problems.
We hope E2M gives engineers, researchers, and students a practical way to perform layered-media electromagnetic analysis wherever they work.
