Joosun Yun, Ph.D.
Founder, ComPhysics

Joosun Yun is the founder of ComPhysics, an engineering company focused on computational physics, optoelectronics, thermal analysis, and scientific instrumentation.

He received his M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Electronics and Communication Engineering from Hanyang University, Korea, in 2009 and 2015, respectively. From 2013 to 2021, he conducted research at RIKEN, Japan, where he worked as an IPA (International Program Associate), Visiting Scientist, Postdoctoral Researcher, and SPDR (Special Postdoctoral Researcher). From 2022 to 2025, he was engaged in research and development at Etamax Co., Ltd. in Korea.

His research and engineering experience spans physics-based modeling, numerical simulation, and scientific software development for LEDs (Light-Emitting Diodes), QCLs (Quantum Cascade Lasers), semiconductor devices, and thermal behavior of power device packages.

At ComPhysics, he develops computational engineering tools and scientific instruments that connect fundamental physics with practical measurement, analysis, and product development.
