We developed E2M-Win (Engineer with EM Waves for Windows) for electromagnetic analysis of general bianisotropic layered structures. Its main capabilities are summarized below.
1. Key Features of E2M-Win
- Advanced Material Modeling: Analyzes bianisotropic slabs defined by complete constitutive tensors: [ε],[μ],[ζ],[ξ].
- Supports complex tensor inputs and user-defined material properties.
- Features built-in coordinate rotation tools for precise tensor manipulation.

2. Intuitive No-Code Workflow
- Layer Designer: Construct multilayer structures through an interactive graphical interface—no coding required.

- User-Friendly Interface: Use a consistent graphical workflow from material definition through simulation setup.

3. Powerful & Interactive Visualization
- Visualize Reflectance (R), Transmittance (T), and Absorptance (A) Spectra.
- Analyze results via interactive 3D Surface Plots, 2D Heatmaps, and 1D Line Profiles.
- Detailed polarization analysis for TE/TM modes.

4. Numerical Benchmark
- Comparison with a Published Reference
- We benchmarked E2M-Win against the standard reference text, “The Transfer-Matrix Method in Electromagnetics and Optics” by Mackay & Lakhtakia.
- For the documented test case, E2M-Win reproduces the published spectral response of a complex bianisotropic medium.
- High Precision
- Maximum absolute numerical difference: 6.41×10−11 for this benchmark.
- This result documents numerical agreement for the stated benchmark; it is not a universal error bound for every model.
