Features of E2M (Engineer with EM waves)
Engineer with EM waves (E2M) is a powerful and fast 1D electromagnetic solver designed for engineers, researchers, and students. Analyze complex layered structures, extract photonic bands, and simulate optical properties directly on your iOS device.
Key Features:
– Advanced 1D EM Solver: Simulate 1D stacked (layered) structures with high-speed performance.
– Comprehensive Analysis: Calculate Reflectance, Transmittance, and Absorptance (RTA) as functions of incident angle, thickness, and frequency.
– Polarization Control: Analyze arbitrary polarization states. Define complex TE and TM inputs to simulate Linear, Circular, or Elliptical polarization interactions.
– Photonic Band Structures: Extract band structures for both TE and TM modes to analyze periodic systems.
– Material Library:
- Built-in integration with the refractiveindex.info database for immediate access to practical material parameters (converts complex refractive index to complex permittivity/permeability assuming non-magnetic media).

Freeware Mode: E2M offers a generous free mode allowing designs of up to 3 layers. It supports infinite periodic repetition of these layers, enabling a wide range of academic calculations and case studies without a subscription.
